I'm an expat in Jakarta living here through May. I was wondering if you have a recommendation for a gynecologist here? Just for checkups etc. I know a lot of expats go to Singapore. Would you recommend this?

Hi, there are a few good gynaecologist in Jakarta mostly you can find them in the big hospitals. But personally, if it's a normal check up I would recommend Dr. Robert Aliff of JWCC his clinic is along Prapanca, he speaks English and have a lot of expat patients. Contact numbers are 021-72799911 or 0817 669887. If it is a more complicated procedure I suggest you go to Singapore.

I personally didn't like Dr Robert Alief. I would recommend Dr Gozali (also JWCC) or Dr Azen(Pondok Indah Hospital) instead.

Hello, I got into this blog looking for Dr. Robert Alief, who was my gynecologyst 14 years ago while I was living in Jakarta. He is such a great doctor, is very sober and a man of just a few words (measured), but I had a wonderful experience during my pregnancy and delivery in Medistra Klinik with him. I had a C-Section and Dr. Alief did a great job, I was up almost the same day and didn't have any complication. During my second pregnancy I was in Venezuela and had a great gynecologyst as well, and so that you get an idea, when my obstetrician made my 2nd C-Section he exclaimed: That doctor you had in Indonesia was not a doctor, he was an architect! what a perfect job he did. If some day I would go back to Jakarta I'd look for Dr. Robert Alief with no dubt. I hope my experience helps ;-)
