 Tina: Dear Susan, The number one Make up in Indonesia that is famously being used on stage are PAC and Make up store. I attended a theatrical make up class sometime ago and they use this 2 brands, mostly PAC, as it's cheaper. You can get this brand in big department stores. 

 Lara: I also have received the same info that the Makeup Store is number one but also to try MAC ini Plaza Senayan and ask for Nita or Lelly. In PIM 2 MAC speak to TYA.

Where to buy bread making machines in Jakarta

Hi Lara & Tina Just wondering if it’s possible to buy bread making machines in Jakarta, & the bread mix that you use for them (easier to use breadmix than to put it all together separately)? 

I know it’s going to be hard to find the bread we like, so we’re thinking of making it ourselves.

 Hi Nila, Dishwashers are not very common here.
 Most of us have domestic staff and they are not popular or on the market much.
 You can find one or two at Electronic City (http://www.electronic-city.com/) in SCBD or in Glodok. These are very expensive, however.

 I scrutinize the classified ads/Craig’s List often but have never seen one up for sale there.

Hello, I'm an expat in Jakarta living here through May. I was wondering if you have a recommendation for a gynecologist here? Just for checkups etc. I know a lot of expats go to Singapore. Would you recommend this?

 Hi, there are a few good gynaecologist in Jakarta mostly you can find them in the big hospitals. But personally, if it's a normal check up I would recommend Dr. Robert Aliff of JWCC his clinic is along Prapanca, he speaks English and have a lot of expat patients. Contact numbers are 021-72799911 or 0817 669887. If it is a more complicated procedure I suggest you go to Singapore.

They are pretty expensive here but you can usually find them gently used on the Upper Crust classified ads/Craig’s List.  Please register to receive their emails at:  mary.a.wiley@uppercrustjakarta.com.

Alternatively, you can try many of the malls around town at any of the Kettler Sport stores.  There is one in Mall Taman Anggrek or Pondok Indah Mall.
